Allama Iqbal Open University has now announced to continue its scholarship schemes for the financial assistance of deserving and brilliant students.
As per the official details revealed on Monday by AIOU, besides the merit scholarship, earn to learn initiative as well as the final year project grant, the varsity is now offering the financial aid to the transgender, prisoners, disable people and also the children of martyrs assisting them to continue their further education.
It is also important to mention here that it is the university in Pakistan, both in government as well as private sectors, which offer free matriculation education to the people of Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and former FATA.
The interested aspirants are required to contact the Directorate of Students Advisory and Counseling Services or their respective regional offices to get more information for availing these opportunities. As per the vice chancellor of the university, being a respected national institution, it was the main and major responsibility of the institute to offer equal educational opportunities to the poor as well as deserving students so that no one will be destitute from his right of education because of the financial constrictions.
These financial aid schemes will benefit the brilliant aspirants of lower socio-economic class of the society who were not capable to complete their education due to the lack of resources. All these schemes were being carried out in all provinces of the country, AJK and also the northern areas via regional offices of AIOU.
Different committees have been established to ensure the transparency in the implementation of these schemes and to provide the guidelines for more improvement of TORs as well as implementation structure. Undoubtedly, these schemes will play a vital role in improving literacy rate of the country.
